I took a walk around the Cathedral today. Stepping under the old stone arches and going away from the milling throng at the main entrance I sought the quieter parts of grassy walks among the ancient tombs for I loved the sense of history, of solace, the air of gentle meditation.
As I turned the corner I found they had been busy since my last visit; a new gravel walkway now meandered through the lawns and trees. For a moment I was quite surprised at the sudden brightness almost garishness amidst the old, mellowed stone. But then, how quickly my mood changed.
The path, as bright and inviting as the famed Yellow Brick Road lay before me and suddenly there was a sense of adventure, curiosity piqued a child-like excitement as the gravel crunched noisily beneath my feet. Oh! How intriquing is a path untrodden; and how sweetly does the siren sing from that bend leading into the unknown.

Lovely rebellious thought :) I'd have to go see - just too inquisitive :p Who knows it might lead to the Emerald Castle and the Wizard of Oz. Or, knowing me, down a dirty great hole in the road... hahaha
