April showers...

I was out in the garden today but it was one of those gorgeous, yet annoying April days when the sun is begging you to go outside and do the garden; so you grab your tools, get started on a job, and yes, it pours with rain. You dash to the shed put your tools and wellies away, step indoors.... The sun comes out. Bright and shimmering on the wet foliage and paved areas, gleaming liquid sunshine touching the herbs and hordes of daffodils, filling the air with their fragrance. So, once again you are drawn. You step into your wellies, pick up your spade and pruners.

Ten minutes later it begins to drizzle. You stay out, the sun is shining, it will pass. It doesn't. It gets heavier, you get wetter. Stubborn! Haha

But it is wonderful to feel the rain and to be in the garden after it has rained. I love that 'just washed' feeling, everything gleams. Fragrances are sharper; of the herbs thyme is strongest, then rosemary, feverfew and sage, of the daffodils it is the white narcissis and drifting amongst it, the sweet, pungent scents of pine, and as you step, crushed wet grass and damp earth, even the birds seem to sing sweeter.
Hmmm April showers.

What I really wanted to post was a single raindrop and the ripples on the pond.. I think I need a better camera or more practice. How do they do that kind of stuff?

Lovely, lovely, you write so well, bright and alive.

The rain does that here too, but here, the rain is warm so you can stay in it without shivering.
