two lovely blue flowers of spring

For constancy and everlasting love ~
Lover of trees and shade, this woodlander is believed to call the fairies when rung, and thought to be unlucky to walk through a mass of bluebells, because it was full of spells. The Latin name for this flower is Endymion who was the lover of the moon Goddess, Selene. The goddess put Endymion into an eternal sleep, so she alone could enjoy his beauty.
Bluebells are said to help prevent nightmares.
When I was a child such a wood was my playground and the sky went on forever enchanted with the ringing of faerie bells. I would spend hour upon hour there. What a wonderous sight and I have never seen such a wood since.
Are bluebell woods dying out or have I just been unlucky in recent years?
Of course, it was a long time ago, I am now of an age when an eight year old girl could spend hours in the woods alone without her parents becoming frantic if their child was a little late home for tea. An eon ago in many ways, but I do hope there are still old bluebell woods, and children who still believe in faerie bells and always step with care.
