Riding the Rails...

T
he clickity-clack of metal upon metal, the ever changing landscape as you look out the window and watch the towns and villages mosiac of patchwork fields fly by as you travel by train.

If you are truly in the spirit of things, then there is a special place inside that thrills at a chug-chug and puff of billowing smoke, the hiss of steam and a whistle that speaks a thousand words ~ a ride on a steam train.

I'm hoping to do all that and do it in the Scottish Highalands.
This is the steam train journey Road to the Isles and this is a close-up of glenfinnan viaduct. Its better, much better than it sounds, take a look. :)

So, fingers crossed, wish me a couple of dry, sunny days for the sake of my camera. At the moment while everyone is going to be enjoying temperatures around 30 degrees, the forecast is 15 and overcast for the west coast.

Ben Nevis ~ This was to be my other hope, a walk to the top, or as near as fog and weather permit, but now with my ankle still not back to normal, not so sure, but you never know, there have been offers to hire a wheelbarrow, and one dear lady suggested a donkey. There is hope for me yet! :)
