More swans!
But the day was warm, lazy. The sun was shining upon the water turning it to molten silver and I sat on the river bank beneath the willows and watched it shimmer and sparkle and drift on by.

I could have turned back the years before industry settled on the river and cars rushed over the bridge in an endless, impatient stream of their own, to a slower time, when horses pulled the barges, and a boy would be sitting on the bank with a pole and a piece of string, or a baited length of twine wrapped around his finger. Lying on his back, chewing on a grass stalk, the sun on his face, boyhood dreams in his heart, not caring if the fish took his line or if he stayed there till the sun dipped and the shadows told him it was time to go home for his tea.

It was that sort of day, slow, tranquil and serene. So, when they drifted into view I captured the moment.
