It is one of "The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries" I found in The Tapestry House.
In total, there are 6 works in La Dame a la Licorne (The Lady and the Unicorn) series from 15th century France. the Lady and the Unicorn tapestry series. Debate continues as to the exact meaning of the symbolism of each, however opinion generally agrees that five of the tapestries represent the human senses, with A mon seul désir (to my sole desire) representing love."
This piece represents the sense of touch as we see the Lady gently touch the Unicorn's horn with her hand. read more here... and here "The Lady and the Unicorn" for the story behind the tapestries.

These are beautiful! I had never really seen tapestries until we visited this place in France last year - http://www.hospices-de-beaune.com/gb/musee/.
Society always seems so quick to assume its superiority over the past, yet the skill and intelligence shown through all kinds of objects from our history never ceases to amaze me.
