The nightingale's high note is heard;
It is the hour when lovers' vows
Seem sweet in every whispered word;
And gentle winds, and waters near,
Make music to the lonely ear.
Each flower the dews have lightly wet,
And in the sky the stars are met,
And on the wave is deeper blue,
And on the leaf a browner hue,
And in the heaven that clear obscure,
So softly dark, and darkly pure.
Which follows the decline of day,
As twilight melts beneath the moon away.
- Lord Byron,
Parisina

Excellent shot Sandy. Did you use a tripod?
Hi Dave. Thanks, glad you like it. No, don't have a tripod apart from anything else they are too clumsy to carry. I just like having my little camera in my pocket *just in case*.
Poem and picture go togetgher in a wonderful manner.
Try Jessops, they do a pocket tripod for £6.95, very useful.
A Magical Poem

Thanks Dave I'll have a look and give it a try.
Hi Quasar9 It is a magical time especially when walking by water, the stillness and reflections, and love Byron too.
Oh, Sandy, that photo is magnificent! I wasn't familiar with the poem, but it's an excellent choice to go with the picture.
I've missed you lately. Hope you're well and have just been busy.
I'm not familiar with more than a couple of Byron's poems, but this is lovely, and the photo is so well suited to it!
Lovely poem, Sandy...the light is so soft and gentle, in your photo.
My favourite time of day, as well!

Lovely photo, so peaceful, as is the poem. It is magical, that last bit of day, as we watch the sun disappear before our very eyes.
Catching up here, Sandy. Really excellent photo, very moody, and Byron as well. Top post.
